Apple announces iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3

Apple has revealed its newest products at its event in Cupertino, California.

The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are both available to pre-order from today and come with some amazing technological advances.

The iPad Air 2 is the thinnest tablet in the world, measuring a frankly ridiculous 6.1 millimetres, which is about as thick as the latest issue of How It Works. The display is 56 per cent less reflective than the first iPad Air, so you can use it even on the sunniest of days with minimal glare.

The headline news, however, is that both products now come with Touch ID, meaning you can now unlock your iPad with a touch of a finger. Both come with iOS 8.1 and Apple’s newest OS X Yosemite.

The cheapest iPad Air will retail at $499, while the iPad Mini 3 will cost between $399 and $729. UK prices are expected to be announced soon.
