World Of Animals launches Rhino Week to help fight illegal poaching

Rhino Week begins on Monday 26 January, with World Of Animals running daily rhino-related giveaways to raise awareness of their #SaveRhinosNow campaign.

The recent Ebola outbreak has caused a major decline in African tourism, leading to a dramatic drop in funds for the Ol Pejeta conservancy, East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary. The 90,000-acre site is home to the rarest rhinos on the planet, including 4 of the 6 last remaining Northern white rhinos and 100 black rhinos. 150 rangers patrol the land risking their lives to protect the animals from poachers, using GPS technology, night vision goggles, thermal imaging cameras and even drones as you’ll discover in Issue 68 of How It Works.

In order to continue their important work, Ol Pejeta desperately need your help. Any donation that you can make, no matter how small, will help to protect these beautiful creatures from the threat of extinction. You can also help by buying a copy of the fantastic World Of Animals magazine, as 10% of the profits will go straight to Ol Pejeta.

For a chance to win loads of incredible prizes throughout Rhino Week, including the chance to be a zookeeper for a day, make sure you like the Facebook page and follow @WorldAnimalsMag on Twitter.
