What on Earth is it?

Finally for this month we have this. I know, I know, its obviously the exhaust chimney of a steam train. Sigh, sometimes I don’t know why I make it so easy.

Anyway, if you think you know what it really is, or – even better – you have a hilariously silly concept of what it might be (but definitely isn’t), drop us a line and get your suggestion printed in the magazine next month.

Clues? Well, tough. I suppose you will just have to go and ‘reed’ (sic) up on steam trains in Neville Train-Spotting Smith’s 1901 guide on locomotive miscellanea in your nearest library’s main ‘chamber’.
