Super quick mobile phone charging
Ever looked in horror as your battery bar creeps towards zero just as you’re about to complete that crazily hard level on that new app you bought?
Fear not, as this problem could soon be a thing of the past.
This week, Israeli company StoreDot fully charged a battery on a Samsung S4 smartphone in only 26 seconds. The cell works by using nano-crystals from a biological semi-conductor of amino acids called peptides. They work in the same way bodybuilders use protein to build muscle faster.
The new technology will also be tested in laptops and other electrical gadgets.
Don’t throw away your old charger just yet though, this new revolutionary battery pack is only a prototype and is predicted to take at least three years to be commercially available.
