Why do camels have humps?

Many people believe that camels use their humps as big water storage tanks to ensure that they have plenty to drink during their longs treks across the desert.

However, this isn’t the case. Their humps are actually used to store fat that the camels can convert into energy when they need it. That’s not all though, as these fat stores also have another surpassing benefit.
